Royal Photographic Society The Royal Photographic Society was founded in 1853 'to promote the Art and Science of Photography', a mission it continues to this day in the United Kingdom and through its considerable overseas membership. Royal Society for the Protection of Birds Home page for the RSPB - a useful site covering a range of topics from conservation, to online store. Contains details of all the RSPB reserves and wildlife centres. Bishops Boats - Seal Trips in Norfolk Trips to see the seal colonies on the North Norfolk coast. The company operate traditional clinker-built wooden ferries from Blakeney harbour or nearby Morston quay. Trips vary, depending on the tides, and last approx one hour, or with a landing on Blakeney Point upto two hours. A great opportunity to view Common and Grey Seals up close. Well worth the time to seek this one out. Dean Birders This is the website of a group of volunteers who help make birdwatching accessible to those with difficulty in getting about themselves. Dean Birders help to set up feeder stations and nesting boxes in the gardens of those people that are either elderly or have a disability and are limited to the house so they can enjoy birdwatching themselves. Jersey Tourism - Official Website Having lived in Jersey for a number of years I am bound to be biased and say that it is a beautiful location - but it really is. With delightful beaches, stunning cliff top views and a diversity of plant and animal life there is something interesting around every corner - a photographers dream. There is so much to see and do in Jersey that a trip is well worth it. Jersey Zoo "The Zoo that is not a Zoo" Jersey Zoo is the HQ of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. The main aim of the Zoo is to involve itself in global conservation efforts. The conservation scientists at the Zoo work with the animals up close, and pass on what they learn about the animals to conservationists working in the wild. Sharing this knowledge has been vital in helping animals thrive in their natural habitats. If you go to Jersey a visit here is a must Warehouse Express Vast selection of photographic equipment for most makes of cameras. Also good for other optics such as binoculars and field scopes. Good section those interested in digiscoping. Wild Life Watching Supplies An interesting site that covers a wide range of subject matter, from some execellent tips for watching and photographing wildlfe to camoflague gloves. (The home made log feeder works particularly well....) An extensive range of outdoor clothing, equipment and supplies aimed at enhancing the experience of watching, filming or photographing wildlife. |
